why healing your gut is the most impoRTANT thing you can do

healthy gut, happy life

What does it truly mean to have a healthy gut? Believe it or not your gut microbiome is the foundation of your health. In fact, 80% of your immune system is located in the gut as well as the majority of your body’s serotonin. This means if your gut is unhealthy then your immune system suffers, hormone imbalances occur and multiple illness, including food allergies and autoimmune disorders can develop.

A healthy gut is when there’s a balance of beneficial bacteria and yeast in your digestive system. When the amount helpful bacteria and yeast are diminished and harmful microbiome are allowed to flourish we end up with what is commonly called “leaky gut” or gut permeability. This happens for a number of reasons, poor diet, antibiotic use, birth control, toxins in our food and stress. Once this permeability occurs proteins are able to escape the gut, enter the bloodstream and eventually attach to other organs. Here the body sees these proteins as foreign and harmful and begins launching an attack of the immune system. The chronic inflammation this causes and the over stimulation of the immune system is a recipe for illness.

This leaky gut can present itself in many forms. Symptoms ranging from fatigue, brain fog, trouble sleeping, joint pain all the way to food allergies, nutritional deficiencies, auto-immune disorders, diabetes and infertility (to name a few) can all be linked to an unhealthy gut. You can see why it is crucial to your wellbeing to actively heal your gut.

Unfortunately, once the gut has become unwell simply eating healthy or discontinuing the substance that causes the imbalance is not enough. This is why so many people struggle to heal from an unhealthy gut and continue to be sick despite their best efforts. There is a four step process needed to effectively clean the gut and restore its health. First it's imperative to remove the harmful substances or overgrowth from the gut. Next we need to replace what we're putting into our bodies with a nutritional plan designed to support gut health. Then we focus on repairing the damaged gut wall by removing the biofilm layer and sealing the permeability off the intestinal wall. Finally we work on rebalancing the healthy and beneficial bacteria and yeast that assist us with digestion. These important steps are accomplished by the use of specially formulated herbal supplements, nervous system repair and proper exercise tailored to each individual. Following this proven protocol to heal your gut will set you up for a lifetime of health and wellness.
